Clean the grill and components often to prevent grease buildup, which can lead to flare-ups. Regularly inspect the barbecue for signs of wear, rust, or damage, and replace any damaged parts immediately. Cover the barbecue when not in use to protect it from the elements, and store it in a dry, sheltered area during the off-season to prevent rust and weather damage. Place the barbecue away from flammable materials such as fences, overhangs, or dry vegetation. Never leave the barbecue unattended while in use. Use long-handled tools to prevent burns, and keep a spray bottle of water nearby for minor flare-ups. Do not cook before the fuel has a coating of ash. Ensure the barbecue shall be heated up and the fuel kept red hot for at least 30 minutes prior to the first cooking. Avoid using excessive charcoal, as it can lead to overheating and safety hazards. Maximum 1 layer of charcoal. Ensure children and pets remain at a safe distance from the barbecue. Allow the barbecue to cool completely before covering or moving it.
